 I know I am supposed to have a grand statement of intent and purpose here. Some great revealing and profound thing. I'm still working on that. . .can you check back later please? If forced to make one right now, it would be that I enjoy seeing the beauty in things. . .or the erotic nature. . .or the sublime. . .but mostly I enjoy showing people what I see. . . or sharing what I think. It's all about sharing the world that I see with others. |
My name is David Williams, I am an artist and a writer. I have three books of erotica published through Pink Flamingo Press as well as stories and poetry published by magazines such as Secret, Implossion, Hustler, and others.   My artwork is pastel on textured canvas. Although people tend to think of it as drawing, it is classified as painting because pastels are pure pigment. A stick of pastel is the same pigment that is in oil paint or acryllic paint except there is no oil or acryllic to make it liquid in form. I have found this medium works best for me because I like to touch my work, to use my fingers and hands to smear the colors in place. Without that tactile sensation, I don't feel as connected to each piece. My artwork is on a total of 8 book covers including my own. My art also illustrates my books of erotica. I have been in shows at events such as Thunder In The Mountains and The SEC and won "Best Painter" at the 2005 SEC.
